@ WMU

After almost 5.5 years of attempting to establish some "linkage" with the World Maritime University (WMU), finally had the opportunity to meet up with the management team to explore areas for collaboration with the Centre. The 3-HR meeting & lunch was followed by a 100 min presentation of ReCAAP & the Asian initiative. Am certainly looking forward to some form of mutual benefits following this inaugural session which was held at their new campus, next to Malmo Central Station.

Danish hospitality

Had the opportunity to meet-up with Mrs Brigit Olsen, our Danish Governor whilst transiting Copenhagen for Malmo. Had a good 2.5 hrs chat over Danish delights and Open Sandwiches which was indeed very yummy. She also gave a quick tour of the new open office which was like the "ikea" concept. Open, simple but practical and can easily be re-configured very quickly. It was indeed a fruit meet-up. Had quite a time comparing spelling to move around.

"Do Nothing" Time

Had some "do nothing" time with Clare just sitting along street benches hearing / watching street performers, as we made our way to Nottingham Train Station. Nice cool downhill walk. (Great, especially eith a heavy suitcase and 2 bags).

Lobster Noodles

Dinner with Clare at the Mandarin Kitchen @ Bayswater. Had the famous Lobster Noodles as we watched other diners going for other yummy dishes like the crispy duck and large clam scallop. Cost just as much as the Angus Steak that we had the day before, but certainly more satisfying. Good dining experience.

Meeting Ben

My 6-monthly ritual of meeting Ben. It's like a courtesy call whenever I return to London. First did it in 1986 whilst attending the International PWO course. Never thought that we will have to meet again. With the IMO MSC Meetings, there's greater opportunity to pop by for a casual Hi Ben !! Time for another meet-up :p).
