Big Foot

Another foot related episode. Not too long ago, it was Mom with a hair line fracture on her foot. Now, daughter #1 is also wrapped up for the removal of 3 large "UFOs" (Under Foot Objects). Under GA, it was all removed and a rather large bandage amplifies the size of her left foot. Guess, she can now put her BEST Foot forward !!!

Catching up !!

The unplanned trip to Jeju Island for the ASF meeting, saw the impromptu meet-up with my KCG friend, Son-Young at Seoul. Lunch over Korean hot-pot and ice shaving strawberry ice cream ranged our conversation from how technology has changed our day-to-day routine to weekend activities, gentle motherly reminders to occasional threats, workplan timeline and irritating "names cannot be mentioned" topics. Guess it's always fun to just chat with no specific agenda nor reports to write. Had crazy thoughts to tattoo social security numbers too. lol !!

A K-9 friend

Indeed an unusual trip this round to the USCG Alameda Base @ Oakland, San Francisco. Aside from the usual courtesy call and training session to the Focal Point, our host arranged for a visit to their MSST, which is their Ship Boarding Team. Well armed and equipped to meet shipboard obstacles, we were also introduced to their highly trained K-9 units who either sniffed for drugs or explosives. Fully energetic and adorable, they happily look for their target items and are overjoyed to be rewarded with their favourite toy. Very charming and faithful partners. 3 woofs to them (high paw !!!)

Total ReCall

Well, not that total. The last place where memory was still a little clear of the SF Scene was Fisherman's Wharf. Learnt that there were much changed to SF after an earthquake followed by 3 days of fires, that destroyed a larger part of SF. Most of the places were rebuilt to modern day SF.

We meet again

After some 30 years, met the Golden Gate Bridge again. Still seeing it from a distance, it donned on me how times flew by. First visited this in 1984 on our honeymoon trip via Narita/Honolulu. Though can't recall much of the SF scene, do recall Lombard Street & Fisherman's Wharf. Took an open top bus for a quick look around before the official meeting starts.

Streets of San Francisco

Took some 17 hrs to get here after a brief transit at Seoul. Pleasantly bummed into an ex-Navy mate at T3 and was on the same flight as Kelvin Thomas (Amy Lim's hubby). Was last here some 3 decades ago. Can't recall much but I'm sure there are changes. After a quick orientation walk around the hotel area, a Thai Char Kueh Teow, hit the bed to recover from the long aching journey.
